Remington 870 Express Tactical Shell Count

Recently purchased subject shotgun with the factory tube extension. Thought with the extension should be able to load seven 2-3/4 in shells. Is this correct? Have only been able to load 6 shells. Disassembled and don't have any dimples, etc. Shell is able to slide inside the forward end of the tube extension. Puzzled as what to try next. Any ideas as to what I should try to do to be able to load 7 shells?

If you have an 18" or 18.5" barrel the magazine will hold 6 (+2 extension) + 1 in the chamber.

Yup they seem to mislead people at stores saying 7+1 often. If its a 18'' then its 6 in the tube and one in the chamber.

Yup, I just purchased an 870 tactical and it holds 6 +1.
