Anyone use the LaserLyte Center Mass Laser

Post by Laser Dave »

I bought one (LaserLyte Ryder Center Mass Laser) recommended buy http://www.rem870.com/book/
There was no Torque Speck, no written instruction at all on the mounting instruction sheet.
Just pictures on how to mount on Picatinny Rail
The Gun Store where I bought it had never seen one before and mounted it on my 870 for me . When I went to shoot my 12 Gauge 870 I checked to make sure it was tight .Would not tighten on Picatinny Rail . Did not want to fire 870 Shotgun and find out Laser was not Tightened and find Laser destroyed because it was not tightened down as I did not install it my self. You always check someones else s work .
40 years as a Machinist taught me that the hard way , but only once.

Called Company and they said not to over tighten . I said " how would I know as there were no words or torque speck to warn you.
I told them," I have been a machinist for over 40 Years retired at a world wide known company( Hardinge Inc.) and I know how to write instruction on how to mount their laser , they need a better design team and engineers because they have been using dovetail holding systems for 40 years at least . I worked in the Workholding Division of Hardinge Inc and I Run Milling Machines for 26 of those years and I milled Dovetail's in to parts and Worked on the Clamps that we made that had to clamp onto the Dovetail (which is really no different than than the Picatinny Rail ) that I milled .

I got my money back as my life might depend on that 870 and their LaserLyte Ryder Center Mass Laser Center . I want Laser that will be able to be tighten down , not something that can only be tightened down to who knows what as they do not have one witted word to tell you how tight is tight supposed to be other that when you call them they say do not over tighten that is subject to ever ones interpretation of over tight , but a torque speck is not open to that as their are special tools( screw drivers, wrenches etc.) that are made that measure torque.

Was wondering if any one had bought from that company. This is just my experience .
