Walnut/magpul

I have a 870P with walnut furniture, absolutely love. I recently ordered brown magpull for the lack of weight and ability to attach light. I've been reading forums to find others preferences and cant find much. I read that magpul is the same weight as the walnut, is this true?
Id like to hear others' input, thnx.

I received Magpul in the mail.
I dislike it. Its heaver than I expected, butstock is the same weight as my walnut, the forend is slightly lighter, but not much. The only advantage is the ability to attach a light to forgrip. I dont like the taticool like, so Im sending back.

It always baffles me that these companies can't have an intern take 5 minutes to drop their product on a scale and type the number into the item description on the website. At least with hardwood stocks, the natural variations in the material make it difficult to give an exact weight (though a normally-distributed weight range wouldn't be too tough to nail down with a little effort).

Out of curiosity, what did the SGA stock weigh? And was that with or without add-ons like spacers or risers?

I weighed the Magpul
Stock- 23 oz
Forend- 7 oz
(4)spacers- 5 oz

So not too terribly much more than a walnut stock (though the fore-end is significantly heavier), but I also find the traditional stock shape handles and points much more naturally. Some folks like the steeper grip angle though, and its feature set and adjustability is nice. It just doesn't feel right in my hands.

I tried a friend's 870 with the Magpul SGA and really liked it, so when I found one for sale, I got it.

It's pizza. Everybody likes pizza, but different toppings, lol.

The grip IS one of the things that I like. The ability to adjust LOP and comb height are both options that are handy to have. The fore end is shaped just right for my hand, and offers the various rail positioning options.

The whole package just fit me the first time I shouldered the weapon, and THAT is the most important thing really. Everyone won't agree, but since we're all different, that stopped bothering me a long time ago.
