870 Picatinny saddle rail

I recently went to a gun show in SE Virginia looking to pick up a saddle rail for my 870 WM SuperMag. After canvassing just about the entire floor, I was able to find a dealer who was selling a Picatinny rail that would fit an 870, so she said. The problem was that the rail would fit the 870 2.75" & 3 " receivers but was just a bit small, due to my 3.5" ejection port being larger. If I hadn't had my WM with me, I wouldn't have noticed right away. I decided to buy the rail anyway, as the tolerances on both sides of the rail were just a few cm's short of a fit. After honing the rail down with a fine file, the rail fit perfectly. Has anyone else had similar situations with any of their guns? I'd be interested in hearing about them.
