I got a Choate +3 mag tube extension kit and the tube would even up with the tactical door breach choke and when shooting it whatever coating they had on it was bubbling. I sanded it down and I am wondering what would be a good paint out there to repaint it. Thank you for your replies. I would also like to redo the Remington kit that I currently have put back onto my shotgun since I sanded the Choate one down. Thanks
Just to add not looking to spend tons of money on paint, I would like to someday take the shotgun to Bell Armor which is located near my home town and have them duracoat the whole shotgun.

Re: Painting
Never heard of that issue with the Choate extensions before. Do you happen to have any pictures of the affected finish?
Re: Painting
Yes but I have already sanded it down so I don't have any pics of what it looked like before I sanded it.
Re: Painting
Here are some pics after I sanded it down. The problem was around the front where it meet up with the door breach tactical choke tube.
I wish I did take pics of before and after. I thought I had some old pics showing it bubbled up on the tip.
I also cannot believe that the end cap is plastic in the Choate tube extension, I thought it was metal but when sanding the Choate name came off way to easy and I did a magnet test and it is plastic. I was thinking it was all one piece of metal, like Wilson combat and Remington's mag tube kit.

Here is a pic of the shotgun showing how far it extended up to the choke tube.

Re: Painting
So does anyone know what kind of paint I could use on this. Like to have it kinda the same color as the end cap that is not sanded.

Re: Painting
Well, if you're not ready to spring for gun coating yet, you could try engine paint. I know a lot of paints don't do well with gun cleaning solvents or powder residue, but engine paint should be designed to stand up to high heat, oil, gas, and so on; and flat black would probably be a decent match to the rest of your gun. An inexpensive rattle can from your local auto parts store should be more than enough to shoot a magazine extension, so you'll have extra left over in case you need to touch it up later on.
Re: Painting
Thanks for the information, I might give that a try here soon, I would love to get the whole shotgun dura coated but don't have the funds for that at this time.
