Hi all.
How do you pick the right size sling. I'm looking to make a triple cobra para cord sling. But I'm not sure how long to make it

Re: Sling
Well, the first step would be to measure the distance between your sling attachment points. But then you'll have to decide how much slack you'll want the sling to have. This obviously depends on what you'll be doing with the sling, as well as your personal dimensions and preferences.
Here's an idea, Grab some duct tape and a length of rope or strap, and make a mock-up sling. Carry & handle your gun with it, shoot with it, do whatever you're planning to do with the final sling. Put it through its paces and fiddle with it until you have it optimized for you and your purposes. Then just measure it, and make your paracord sling to match.

Also, you can easily adjust the size of the sling usually.

or pick up a cheap military sling like used on the M16 , I get them at gun shows for 7 bucks (I like them) . Adjust and use then when comfortable with length make your para cord one . Keep in mind the thickness and stiffness might be different.
