Greetings from Montana in the United States!!

Post by mcron »

From a very small town in Montana, and then live even farther out in the woods. I have two boys, 10 and 12, who compete in USPSA and will start 3 Gun with me this year.

My shotgun is an 870 (go figure) from 1983 and the one that my boys have we found in a pawn shop in very rough condition. That one I dated to 1953! I modified it to fit them, and then reloaded ammo that they could use. We are raring to go when the season starts in May here.

Mark, welcome to the forum! Have you noticed any differences in your Remington 870 when compared to the new ones? I know that there should be different follower, spring retainer and steel trigger assembly... any other differences?

Vitaly, the only differences I have found are those you mentioned. There were a bunch of posts about the extension tubes not fitting due to thread variation, but I did not find that the case. I was able to fit my Nordic tube just fine. I purchased a Choate one and while it fit ok, and seems to work ok, it is not nearly as well done as the Nordic is. The boys will have fun with it, and they can also use it for Grouse/Pheasant hunting too.
