.410 Stock and Forend
.410 Stock and Forend
Ok fellow 870 owners here it is. Recently was given a 870 .410 in pretty rough shape. Got it cleaned up and ready to go but it was missing the stock when I got it. Now have been scouring the internet for answers because it seems the .410 has next to nothing in the way of accessories. Have only really found speculation on what might fit like the 1100s, 7400s, or 7600s stocks. Really looking for a full stock with pistol grip or tactical stock. Also looking at replacing the forend but have only seen used oem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: .410 Stock and Forend
I'm not aware of any pistol-grip stocks for the .410. But I would definitely look into possible compatible furniture from the 870's sibling semi-auto shotguns and cousin rifles, there could very well be something there.
But if you'd be happy with a semi-grip stock, are you looking for a tacti-cool stock, or something that's actually tactical (meaning suitable for and effective in combat/defensive applications)? If it's the latter, any normal wood or wood laminate stock will be just as functional as the same thing in black polymer. It doesn't matter if a stock is black, brown, wood-grain, or pink with purple polka-dots, the handling will be identical, and the lead pellets coming out of the muzzle won't act any differently. The same goes for the fore-end, and if you want a short police-style fore-end, just about any long fore-end is easily cut down.
If you don't want to buy used, you can order new .410 stocks and fore-ends through Remington's parts department.
