Wingmaster Magnum?

Post by Yankee1970 » Tue Sep 29, 2020 11:35 pm

Howdy. I recently purchased an 870 what I believe to be a wingmaster. The factory told me it was a 1985 wingmaster magnum, but nowhere on the gun does it say wingmaster. Any additional info I could get on this model would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is a 1988 according to Remington. It says 870 Magnum on the left side of the receiver, Wingmaster on the right side. And it is stamped in regular print. By many accounts, these markings and how and where they are placed seem to be more important on our end than theirs. Seems like they are all over the place.

They are all over the place...my early express model has a magnum receiver but does not say "magnum" on it. A buddy of mine got an express model same month, same year, and it has "magnum" stamped on it. There is no consistency in Remington 870 stampings.
