Gummy -
When I was installing the Velcro on the receiver of my 870P, I made sure to cut out the lower right corner so that the serial number was still visible. Afterward, I regretted that the 870 Police Magnum was no longer visible - "Did I just cover up the coolest part of my shotgun??" Haha looks like you took care of that problem.

Very nice rigs you have ArtBrownSir and Gummy. Simple and effective.

I noticed your toes peeking out in the bottom pic, Gummy. You have the same problem I do when I try to get a complete pic of mine. Camera phone just doesn't get the entire weapon unless I hold it WAY up there.

Mondo cool rig nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.

I bought this 870 Express new in 1990, it came with a 28 inch vent rib barrel. Within a few months I had ordered an 18 inch cyl bore barrel and added a Choate +2 mag extension and a six shell side saddle. This gun has not been shot a lot, it sits in the closet loaded with #4 buck as a home defense gun.

A few months ago I ditched the Express wood and added a M4 style ATI stock and a Tapco forend with a NcSTAR LED light and a ATI barrel clamp.

Since discovering this 870 forum a few weeks ago, I have polished the chamber and plan to upgrade the extractor. I also just ordered a S and G follower and spring.

I wanted to take some pics outside but the weather here in East Tennessee wouldn't cooperate today.

Nice setup Reaper. The Choate followers are worth replacing (or modifying). They don't offer any added functionally over the factory follower, and you'll have more usable space inside your magazine with the factory follower. But if your current extractor isn't giving you trouble, I wouldn't worry too much about replacing it. There's nothing wrong with MIM parts if they're designed and made right, and Remington knows what they're doing there.
