The manual refers to the shotgun as the Remington 1100/11-87 because most of the design features of the 1100 are the same as the 11-87. However, there are slight differences between the two weapons. For example, there is a somewhat longer barrel extension on the 11-87. Since you cannot switch barrels between these two models, you might like the 11-87 more if you like to have a longer barrel. In addition, there is also a longer magazine tube on the 11-87 as well. If you have the 11-87 Magnum version, then you can shoot 3” slugs with it. The size of your shells will always depend on the size of your barrel. The owner’s manual will help you understand this and go over which shells you need for each weapon, according to the size of the barrel that you use.

My 1187 will not reject two and three Quatro shells
Is the barrel seal activator installed. See page 17, picture 31.
Should be there for 2 3/4 shells.
My 11-87 super mag. is also missing the barrel seal activator . Come to find out it’s been missing from day one. Now can’t find one anywhere.
It’s little difficult to find parts now. But I hope that Remington Arms will start shipping parts and firearms soon.
Looking one too for my granddaughters gun. If I could get the dimensions I could probably get my husband to make one. Have looked everywhere. Two were located on line in Canada, but they cannot export gun parts to the USA. I did reach out to another forum and asked a gun owner to see if he would be willing to sell me the dimensions for his barrel seal activator.
