Remington 870 Tactical with One Piece Magazine Tube
There was one shooter with new Remington 870 Tactical on today’s shotgun training of our shooting club. As you know, new Remington 870 Tactical has long magazine tube which makes feeding more reliable. The only question I have to Remington’s designers is why magazine tube isn’t flush with the barrel.
You will need to use +1 magazine extension to have your barrel flush with magazine tube.
The only problem of new Remington 870 Tactical is that it accepts barrels designed specially for this model.
This model has plastic stock and forend. Remington 870 Tactical has capacity of 6 shells in magazine tube plus 1 in chamber.
Overall, shooter was really happy with the performance of this shotgun. No extraction problems, reliable feeding, everything is perfect.
How new is “new”, or when did they start making them to only accept specific barrels? Also, that looks a lot like an Express Synthetic (which is what mine is), what is the official differences between the two?
I sure do hope I can get another barrel. I wanted to get an Express Tactical barrel so that I can use a patterning choke!
Mike, not sure about the exact date but a year or two ago. Look at the magazine tube, the tube is one piece, there is no additional extension. This construction is believed to be more reliable.
Aw…my magazine is a solid one piece. Guess my new barrel and choke are a no go :-/
Nice looking gun.
