Wingmaster Duck medalion
Ok, dumb question time from a new member. I recently purchased a used Wingmaster 870 12 gauge. The letters on the barrel are KS which translated to 1998, 1969, or 1925. I called Remington with the full serial number and was told 1969 was the correct manufacture date. I tend to believe that date as the barren is full choke with no screw in tubes and says only 2 3/4" shells. On most of the older 870 Wingmasters I though the little medalion under the stock had a duck on it. This one does not. It's got something else (I forgot my camera, I'll try to get a pic up tomorrow). Were there any other medalions used on this series of 870's or has this been replaced. It doesn't really matter as I would have still bought it and I intend to use it as well, but I'm just curious.

Re: Wingmaster Duck medalion
Out of curiosity I did some googling. My new wingmaster has this "grip cap" on it:
The one you have looks like a bronze version of this:

Perhaps someone had it specially made or it was a custom edition that came with the gun. Perhaps you could try emailing Remington with a good quality picture and see if they can help?
EDIT: Also, found this blog where someone fixes up a 70s Wingmaster http://www.project870.blogspot.fi/ and in one of the pics, you can also see a black (plastic or dark metallic?) grip cap like the one you have: http://i.imgur.com/9FLps5n.jpg
