I just bought these today for $79.00 After seeing them here afew days ago. I love the grippy feel its like the stock on my 700 AAC tactical. The short LOP will make it quick to shoulder.
Don't buy it if you can't sell it.

Just installed this set on my 870. I really like the short lop on this stock. It makes for a very handy setup. Though I did have to change my grip a bit to keep from smacking myself with my thumb.

I particularly like the angle of the hand grip of the stock. More vertical than the oem stock and almost like a pistol grip. The rubber texture is great as well.

Paid $65 for the set and could not be happier.

mrsunday, the same thing happened to me too. I have changed my grip a little after smashing my nose with my thumb.

How does the stock work with gloves? Does the rubber catch on them? Kind of curious.

I have the Hogue regular LOP stock and forend on my 870 now. I originally got the short LOP stock because everyone always says it's so great. I hated it. A 12" LOP is really short. It never felt good to me. I did however think it was a well made piece and subsequently purchased the regular LOP stock. By the way, for those who don't know the recoil paids between the two are not the same. The short LOP stock has a solid rubber pad while the regular LOP stock has a softer, internally ribbed (part hollow) pad. I like the regular LOP pad a bit better as it seems to attentuate recoil better.

Perhaps if I had an enormous fluffy coat on the short LOP stock would be ok but I live in Oklahoma and you only need a light jacket here most of the time.

Regarding the forend or the overmolding in general, I think it is really nice. If anyone has held a hogue gripped revolver, if feels very much the same. It allows a confident purchase and easy manipulation. I would say it is not quite as grippy though. Which in my opinion is a plus.

That's my 2 cents.

By the way, if anyone has a remington shurshot forend they would like to trade for my short LOP stock, I'd be willing.

I also have the 12" lop Hogue buttstock, I'm short so it really works for me. I had problems with the forgrip though. The threads on the action bar setup somehow got bunged up. I took it to two gunsmiths and neither one could remove it. So I went with a UTG aluminum forgrip to allow more utilitarian use. I have several Hogue stocks on many of my weapons and love them all to death.

I am thinking about a Hogue Stock for my 870. Currently I use these spacers

http://www.amazon.com/Remington-Length- ... B003C7U4KO

Can anyone tellme if these spacers will fit the Hogue stock as well?

As far as I know the standard hogue stock has a LOP of 14,25". I will definitely need between 0,25" and ,5" more.

If my spacers won't work, has anyone a better solution?

thanks...

Remington pads don't work with Hogue stock, so I think spacers won't work either.

My Shortened LOP stock came with a really gooie, soft butt pad that was MUCH better then the stock pad. I like to call it the Dr. Scholls butt pad.
