Oversized Safety Buttons

Post by Vitaly »

There are a lot of aftermarket safeties available for the Remington 870 shotgun: S&J Hardware, Wilson Combat (Scattergun Technologies), S&J Hardware, Vang Comp Systems, etc.

Which one do you use and why?

I have'nt ordered one yet, but GG&G in Arizona has a new one out that looks very nice. Should be top quality at a very affordable price.

Why doesn't the after-market one have the red color, so you know the safety is off?

Some manufactuers have the red band, some do'nt. I find I miss it when it's not there.

I think that red color on safety is important and I am surprised that some manufacturers don't paint their safeties. By the way, one of the readers of the blog (Michael) has painted his Scattergun Technologies jumbo head safety:

I simply put some red enamel paint in the outside groove show it would “show red” when the safety was disengaged.

Jeff, I purchased the GG&G safety button and installed it last week. Safety is well made and the Red band is a nice touch. Jim

He has a problem with his GG&G safety for Remington 870, maybe you can help?

Vitaly.
