Dummy, ya can't shoot shotgun shells backwards!

Yup, found out they can be loaded backwards, just don't feed real well, tend to get stuck in the chamber. Practicing my reloading while keeping my eyes on the target, more practice needed!

LOL I am sorry but I am LMFAO after reading that.

I spend a lot of time practicing reloading with my eyes closed in order to insure that I will be able to do it in the dark when the time arises. One thing I do is make sure that my shells are ALWAYS in the saddle the same direction every time. 3 00 buckshot shells loaded with the primer up and 2 slugs with the primer down. I also tend to play with my shells when sitting on the couch so my hands have a good feel for which end is which.

I posted it for laughs, what else ya gonna do?! Part of the problem is the shells were laying on a bench, which was sort of by design so I get used to feeling for which end is which, I didn't pay enough attention, hopefully lesson learned. When I get around to mounting a shell holder on the gun I'll have to feel for the ends depending on how I orient them. It was pretty funny though.

After reading your post I actually went to my workbench where my 870 is sitting and a couple shells in hand, had to take a look and see if it was possible... then thought trying it. LOL Then I decided to take your word for it.

Been there and done that. Recently.

Gypsy and I took a trip to our local range so I could introduce her to "Pinky", her new 870 Express youth 20 gauge. While showing her how to load it, I dropped one in the chamber and proceeded to load the magazine. The second shell went in backwards and I missed it. Third and fourth rounds went in correctly. Only after I had it loaded did Gypsy say..."I thought they were all supposed to go in the same way." She was watching very carefully. I was not.

Made me feel about an inch tall, thought everyone was laughing...typical embarrassing "on the spot" moment.

Chalked it up to a learning experience for both of us. Made mental note "PAY ATTENTION WHEN LOADING THE WEAPON!!!"

If you mean in the mag tube then damn thats crazy.. port loadings another story. You know your training hard when you start port loading shells backwards.
