"Brushmaster/Wingmaster" Deer Gun Year of Manufacture Help

Post by JaceMan1970 »

I own a Remington Model 870 "Brushmaster" 12-gauge pump action Deluxe Deer Gun chambered for 2 3/4" shells with front and rear sites. 20" barrel improved cylinder choke The marking on the barrel is CB60 (which I've learned from online look-up is manufacture date of April 2007, 1981, 1956 or 1933. The serial number on the receiver is V661959V.

Box says Packers No. 7702CB, Order No. 6960, Serial No. 661959V

Interestingly, the old box says "Brushmaster" but the gun's receiver is stamped "Wingmaster" Model 870. All other details, including serial number, on the old box matches.

Can someone help me determine if it was manufactured in 1981 or 2007? I know it is definitely not 1956 or 1933.

Its design is very similar to my 1982 Model 870 Wingmaster 26" 12-gauge barrel and my 1978 Model 870 Wingmaster 28" 20-gauge barrel.

Thanks!

My guess would be 1981 if it is gloss finish and 2-3/4. Later guns are built on the 3" action.
