Hello,
I have a Remington 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge and I was wanting to use it for taking down hogs with buckshot, likely. Should I look into using a choke? And what kind of distance am I looking at? Right now my shotgun isn't threaded but I'm wondering if I should have a Smith thread it.
Remington 870 question for hogs
Re: Remington 870 question for hogs
For taking down hogs with buckshot, using a choke can help improve the spread and accuracy of your shots, with a cylinder or improved cylinder choke being suitable options. If you plan to use your Remington 870 Wingmaster for hog hunting, having a Smith thread the barrel for a choke tube could be a worthwhile investment, allowing for more versatility and effectiveness at varying distances, typically within 20-30 yards for buckshot.
