Hello,
I just bought a new 870 and I am having difficulty loading shells. It seems to catch on the sides and is scraping the paint of the "leaver thing" (don't know what it's actually called). It will go in with some force.
It is a 20 gauge and I'm using 20 gauge shells. I also tried different brand shells just to make sure it wasn't that.
Anyone else have this problem? Does it just need to be broken in?

Should load fairly easily. Can you post pics of your loading gate empty and one where the shell is inserted to where it makes contact?
There is some breaking in to be done but that should be a small amount of wear, not scraping.
