Was wondering if I can use an 870 Express Remchoke barrel on a Wingmaster. What I've read, I'd say yes. Obviously just want to make sure. The Wingmaster was bought in 1980 if that makes a difference.
Thanks
Jeff

Re: Barrel question
Yes, as long as it's the same gauge obviously.

Re: Barrel question
Just be careful about the markings. If you receiver is a 2-3/4 Wingmaster and the barrel says 3" do not use 3" shells, only the 2-3/4 that match the receiver.

Re: Barrel question
All Wingmaster barrels from 1950 to present (72 years) have an indent ball on the hold down ring (of the barrel) and as a result the magazine end cap have saw like teeth on the bottom to give the screwing down of the barrel that ratcheting (click click) feel and support. While all Express and (Super Magnum Express) barrels made from 1986 (when the Expresses first came out) to present (36 years) do not have an indent ball and require a different magazine end cap. Conclusion: I do not believe their barrels are interchangeable.
Re: Barrel question
The barrels are, because the ring that slides over the magazine tube doesn't contain the ratchet-end or magazine end-cap. That stays with the magazine tube, the barrel retaining ring simply slides over the magazine tube.
