870 Express Super Mag Light Strikes

Hey y'all

Last few times duck hunting had about 1 out of every 3 FTF due to light strikes. Stripped down my 870 today and thought that it may be due to the barrel not fitting against the ejector properly? Shouldnt be the hammer spring because the gun is only 2 seasons old and I've put less than 300 rounds through it.

There is a small fingernail width gap between the rib and the receiver that I never noticed before and am almost positive that it used to sit flush to the receiver (I can't get the barrel any closer to the receiver if I apply medium/light pressure), and the ejector doesn't fit all the way in the cutout. Pictures are attached. Any ideas?

Take the gun apart (field strip) and without the bolt inserted, see if you can move that ejector and spring fore or aft. It should slip or move. If it does, it needs to be restaked. Let us know as a follow-up. Also, make sure the barrel is seated all the way in when you tighten down the magazine nut.
