Is it possible to run the Magpul forward sling mount with QD only? No ring on one side?

So after digging through a bunch of pictures on google I think I discovered that the mount did in fact come with a nut that would allow you to run it without the ring. I however seemed to have lost that. Anyone have any ideas on the size of nut I'd need?
