Action-bar lock spring

I am working on a 16 gauge Rem 870, I believe it was built in 72. When I disassembled the trigger assembly and cleaned i began to put it back together and I looked at the schematics and I noticed this gun did not have an "action- bar lock spring" with it. Would any of you know if earlier guns were made without these or is this one just missing it? Thank you in advance for any help, Trott.

My 1960 has it. I assume my older and younger ones do too but the trigger assembly is out of the 1960.

Thank you, I'm just going to assume it was missing so I ordered a replacement. I appreciate your input for sure, if a 1960 has it I bet for sure a 1972 does. Thank you, Trott.
