I am trying to install a Mesa Tactical Shotshell Carrier onto my 870 Marine Magnum XCS and the stainless steel standoff will not fit or pass through the holes in the receiver without exerting one hell of a lot of force. I am loath to hammer on the receiver or to slightly enlarge the existing holes.
To your knowledge have others experienced this and, if so, how did they resolve the issue?

Re: Shotshell carrier install
No experience. But I'd chuck it up in my drill and pinch it in some sandpaper until it was a one-thumb fit.
Re: Shotshell carrier install
I'd contact Mesa Tactical and see wheat they say.
I've heard of problems before, don't remember what brands.
I'd also mod the shell carrier to fit the receiver if it comes to that.

Re: Shotshell carrier install
Definitely don’t pound them in. My first thought is the 870 Marine is plated so the spec of its original pins and receiver holes maybe slightly different (tighter) than a standard 870 due to the plating.
So as already mentioned, the SS Mesa pins maybe fat and need a little slimming
