870 Wingmaster barrel

I'm looking to get a barrel for my '70s 870 wingmaster, or at least according to the barrel thats on it its 70s, have no idea about the receiver, its the stainless variety. but anyway I read on here that any 870 barrel will fit any 870 receiver but i also thought i read somewhere that the newer ones had a different ring where the tube screws on ? or am i half remembering something. thank you in advance for any help.

Every 870 barrel will fit any receiver made for the same gauge. Well, almost. Actually kinda not completely. Yes, you remember right. Some barrels have the magazine tube ring in a different spot, like the HD versions. You just need to be a careful shopper.
