Hey guys,
I just inherited my grandpa's 870 and was watching some videos on how to clean and dissemble it. I am curious about this gap that is between the barrel and what I believe is the ejector spring. Is this normal or am I assembling it incorrectly?
Thank you.
Was given a 870 wingmaster unsure if this part is fitting correctly

Shiny one is a 1983, other is a 1951. So same arrangement for a long time.
Very cool that you got Gramps' 870 (and sorry for your loss). They're terrific guns, every variant. Tell us about it. m
You new to shooting, or just 870? Stick around. This place is kind of slow but seems like a good group. Practical shooters without the ego and vulgarity of other places where cool kids hang out.

I agree with Chilly, good group here , most have a real interest in the 870 and shotgunning in general. I know I’ve learned a ton of stuff.
