Stock length and LOP

What is the most reliable way to check for gun fit? Rt hand shooter; I measured from my inside right elbow ligament to trigger finger first knuckle and got 15." It is a smidge longer than 14 from trigger to stock end but still seems long to me, as though I am reaching to find the trigger instead of locating the trigger in the crease. Help is much-appreciated.
