Model 24901 or is that the serial?
The date code is the best bet.

The number 24901 is Remington's SKU or order number, not the model number. It refers to the 870 police magnum with walnut furniture, parkerized steel and an 18" barrel with a bead sight. It has recently disappeared from the Remington Law Enforcement web site, where is was listed with the other Standard 870 models. Mine says "Police Magnum" on the receiver.

The Standard models with blued finish have also disappeared from the web site. There are three SKUs left, all parkerized.

As the other poster said, check the date of manufacture using the two-letter code on the barrel. Mine was made in 2016, but I just got it NIB at a local gun shop when I was looking for a 16-gauge that I didn't find.
