Heresy Question

Post by Scorpion8 »

So just for my general knowledge, which were the Remington 870 "clones" out there and which ones were the best? Which ones are junk/scrap?

I know there are the imported Norinco clones like the Hawk 982, the NEF/H&R Pardner copies (which may also be an imported Norinco), the older S&W/Howa 3000, and probably others I'm forgetting or haven't heard of. You've also got a number of shotguns that are based heavily on the 870 design, like the CZ 612.

Thanks. Am finally getting into shotguns thanks to this 870, and think the wife may like one in 20-ga. I think the .410 would be a blast, but prices on them are spendy. Not going to go clone unless there isn't a choice.

Just checked two of my local LGS's, and they both had 870 20-ga.'s at reasonable prices. Dang this hobby!
