I borrowed one from a neighbor to create dummy shells using sand and BBs. I wish it had a more solid base, but the price seems excellent for what it is. Oh, and Happy Birthday.

Instruction says that base need to be mounted to a sturdy bench or table using three screws supplied.

TFuller, why have you added sand to the shell? Additional weight?

RainMan, didn't have much time to try it out. Have ordered reloading supplies and read several books about shotshell reloading. It seems very interesting and I am going to have posts about shotshell reloading soon.

I have made some very good training rounds with it. I don't like dummy shells which available on the market, they just look like real but their weight is different. Also, they wear out too fast. Training rounds which made out of fired shotshells with lead pellets inside look and feel like real. Also, they are are more durable.

Nice, looking forward to hearing how you get on mate.

Got slugs, 00 Buck, Wads, Hulls, Powder and Primers all sat in the garage ready to go as soon as I make it back to civilisation. Stuck working on an island at the moment, lots of whitetail, and no gun!

That doesn't sound like work, that sounds like Hell (maybe you should look for a bow and some arrows?)!

Ha! Yeah, a few of the guys were thinking about ordering some bows in. The constant supply of salmon, oysters, blue cod, muscles and scollops straight out the water ALMOST make up for it though :)
