Shell jamming on action stop

I just got an older wingmaster. I'm loading 2 3/4" shells, when I try and chamber a shell it gets stuck on the action stop every time. I have to press the action release every time I chamber a shell. When the trigger is pulled the action release goes in like it is supposed to but comes back as soon as I start to eject the shell.
Anyone have any idea of what might be causing this?

Nevermind.... I figured it out searching online for pictures. The action stop should never be on the side of the action. I just bent it a little bit outbound. Now it works like a champ. I guess the previous owner bent it at some point.
