Remington 700 question

Post by snappo »

I have a pair of Remington 700's that are supposed to be the Police models, but I do not see the word "Police" or "P" on it. Just says Remington 700. One is a 20" fluted and the other is a 26" non-fluted. Both have a black Hogue stock. How do I confirm which version of 700 it is? Both are about 10 - 15 years old.

Thanks KC. Is there a website I can go to where I load in the S/N and it comes back and says what it is?

I must be doing something wrong. That website doesn't like either of my serial numbers.
Bull barrel 700P is E67479xx.
Standard 700P is D62402xx.

You need to find two letters on the barrel of your gun.
