What are considered the best 870's and why?

Post by frankhenrylee » Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:21 pm

Hey folks. I'm looking at doing another 870 build, but want to start with the best.
Requirements:
2.75" and 3"
vent rib barrel( prefer 21", but can modify)
Remchoke(not absolute on this)

I know the Wingmasters are considered to be the best, but what makes em better? Can I just hone and polish an express model and have the same thing? The original "Special Purpose" models are supposed to be a higher grade too, but I haven't been able to find out much about either. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

I have an 870 Police and love it. I think they might be the best platform to build from. Here's a thread you may find interesting that explains the differences between the Police and the Express:

Good luck on your build Frank!

Truly if i could have any 870 for free it would be an MARINE MAGNUM. You can make an express feel better than an Wingmaster at least that is what I did with my express magnum. But if you are looking for a sweet action 870s are not an m37....
