Newbie from SoCal

I moved from the Boston area to SoCal, long ways to move !
I decided I wanted a Home Defense gun, was thinking a 9mm, maybe 45, wasn’t sure what to get.
Read a little, read a lot, way too much info out here on the web so I changed my mind a few times.
The wife made the last change for me, she decided she wanted to shoot too.
My wife has a hand gripping problem, some of the pistols required a lot of gripping power to register a round and I asked her about a shotgun, she said yes and here I am.
I started my search with 12 ga options, found them to have too much recoil for the wife and for this old frame I tote around, so we decided on a 20 ga.
Next i needed a gun that had enough LOP for me and short enough for the wife… ADJUSTABLE Stock came in the picture.
So I ordered a 20 ga Remington Compact, semi tactical from the factory.
Finding a 20 ga Adjustable Stock took me awhile but I located one i believe will work. I have a couple of other pieces I would like to add but I will take my time on it.

So that my intro story here are a few fact.
Retired Quality Assurance Engineer.
Moved 3000 mile to SoCal approx 2 years ago.
Remodeled our home and still working on it !
I have shot guns before but not a lot, guns are not/were not a part of my life back in Boston but they are now. Did some Varment Hunting (legal in NH) some small prey in MA and some Skeet but that’s about it !
I am into Truck Custom/Modifing (looking for a 1952 F1 Ford), Photography and bending hot metal (not a blacksmith by any chance) I just like to make things from STEEL !
