Barrel Retailers?

I went to go order a barrel I found a week back and when I went to go order it... Welp... It's out of stock. Besides going through Remington direct, is there any retailers that have 18.5 threaded Tactical Express barrels for sale?

Brownells & MidwayUSA jump to mind, though they're not the only ones who carry 870 barrels. Carlson's also makes a line of aftermarket 870 barrels that are all threaded for Rem Chokes. Then there's always the used market; Ebay, Gunbroker, etc.

If you find a good deal on one, you can always buy a fixed-choke barrel, and have a gunsmith thread it for interchangeable choke tubes.

Sadly Brownell's and Midway didn't have it. They seem to have some Remington Barrels (non aftermarket) on their site, but tend to be out of stock and offer no backorder on them. Gunbroker and Ebay had some, but they were asking close to the price of new. I'm actually going to call Remington today in hopes their online stock doesn't reflect their actual stock so I can place the order.

That said, how are the Carlson barrels? I've read a lot of bad reviews on their products, so I figured genuine Remington was the way to go.

I've never tried one of their barrels, just their choke tubes, which seem to be pretty good quality for what it's worth. Just tossing out options. I'm sure you can find some reviews here or elsewhere on the internet for their barrels specifically.

If anyone is looking to order something and it's not available on Remington's Country Store call Remington direct and verify their stock online matches their actual stock. The barrel was out of stock on one store and they actually had it in stock at another warehouse and will be shipping from there.
