12 ga. Winmaster receiver and stock

Post by sgc »

Looking to pick up an older Wingmaster 12 ga. receiver stock & forearm (gun without barrel). Want 2 3/4" only gun, from 50's 60's or 70's. Just looking to put my extra smoothbore slug barrel on it.

Why are you specifically looking for a non-magnum receiver?

Don't want to pay extra for a magnum. The barrel I want to use on this set-up is a 2 3/4" barrel and I don't want any confusion for whoever may get this gun down the road.

There shouldn't be any real difference in price, you may actually find yourself a good deal faster if you aren't only looking for non-magnum receivers. The only functional differences between magnum & non-magnum receivers are the ejector & ejector spring; meaning that both magnum & non-magnum receivers will cycle & feed 3" shells. So if you sell this gun later on, and the buyer foolishly tries to shoot 3" shells without first checking the barrel markings, a non-magnum receiver won't stop them from doing so (ejection problems might give them a clue that something's wrong, but that obviously won't happen until after firing).
