Bad barrel markings (upside down and outside-in) help!

I ordered from an online retailer and was about to pickup a new in the box 870 police at the local dealer - but I notice the lack of barrel markings - I usually can read the codes on the left-side in normal light, unaided - This time I had to use a flashlight and a magnifying glass because I realized the markings: AI were double struck and off-set, nearly illegible.

Then I tried the right side - nothing - I looked inside the barrel and at the lock-up with the receiver I noticed a marking: REP symbol is on the inner left side of the barrel, double struck no other marking are visible from the right side.

But then I looked further on the left side, on the outside of the barrel; there is an E in a circle - upside down and a YS in a box upside down!

This made me question the AI marking as possibly an upside down LV

Who knows. Any ideas what to do - what it means - I have not taken possession of the gun yet - anyone else run into this?
