870 Barrel type

Post by usa4ever »

How do you Identify an 870 barrel. I bought a 28" barrel, which fits the Magnum receiver, but all the 870 chokes I have bought have a larger diameter than the barrel threads. It definitely is not a Pro Bore. Thanks

Are you sure your choke tubes are the correct type and gauge? Did you buy the barrel used? If so, perhaps the previous owner had the barrel threaded for a different choke system.

That's because it is a Remchoke Barrel.
