Stock / Factory 870 Police Magnum Recoil Pad Question

Just picked up a really clean 2004 manufactured 870 Police Magnum, but at one point someone swapped out the original recoil pad with a larger ugly aftermarket piece. I'd like to keep it as stock as possible, and was wondering if these were equipped from the factory with the standard Remington marked brown pad recoil pad or was there a black variant or anything specific to the Police model?

I think the newer 870Ps all use black recoil pads. If you want to be comlpetely authentic, you're probably looking for a Limbsaver or R3 pad; I don't think the SuperCells were around in 2004 (though given the option, I'd definitely go with a SuperCell).

I've got a gently used recoil pad from my 870P I could part with if it helps you. I swapped it out for something else not long after I got the shotgun.
