short barreled shotguns

Post by spacecowboy237 »

when you read the laws, fees, classes and so on it can become daunting as to what is legal and what is not.

factor in the interwebs and youtube and you can find people popping off things that would normally seem illegal (in the US) or may as well be sawed-offs.

Whats the deal?

I'd like to invest is a "short shot gun" at some point.

Simply asking "What's the deal?" is pretty broad. We can help if you have specific questions, but if you simply have no idea how short-barreled shotguns are regulated under U.S. federal law, I would recommend doing some reading to learn the basics first. The Wikipedia pages on the National Firearms Act and Title II Weapons are good starting points; and the ATF's website has a decent FAQ regarding short-barreled rifles & shotguns that covers some of the finer legal points of owning such firearms.
