shotgun scope in a 22 LR

Hi there! Got a question for the more experienced. I have a brand new Nikon Slughunter BDC 200 Scope. Haven´t been able to use it on my shotgun due to ammo issues (it was meant to be used with a rifled barrel but there aren't proper slugs available in my country so far). Anyone have an idea how it would fare on a 22 LR rifle (I have recently acquired a CZ 452 lux). The manufacturers said it could work (they have a website where you can calculate the ballistics and adjust the settings), but obviously it's not meant for a 22 . I think that other than the scope's manufacturer recommended range (which is actually not farther than one would usually shoot a 22) it shouldn't be a problem because it's a prety good scope. I don't see why it would be an issue. Mount it up and give it a try. Can't hurt.
