Diffuculty Ejecting spent round, sometimes
I have a brand new 870 Wingmaster 12, that does not eject a spent round sometimes. It takes a brisk and forceful pull to get the chamber to open and eject the round. Then its OK for a few rounds. I would say this happened to me 3 times during one round of Trap. Of course the gun is clean and lightly oiled after each shooting. I've only put a hundred rounds through it, an old timer told me not to worry about it. just keep cleaning and oiling the gun and it will break in. Any suggestions?

What specific brand/line of ammo were you using when you experienced this? Before an 870 is broken in, it can have this issue with most of the budget-level steel-based stuff on the market, but there are one or two really crappy brands that just refuse to function even after the gun is broken in, and those should be avoided completely.
If you're not shooting the bad stuff, then I'd say the old timer had it right. Keep the chamber clean, shoot the snot out of it, and the minor sticking should go away as the gun breaks in. 870s just get better with use, which is why the old Wingmasters that have been around awhile seem so nice.
You can try wrapping some steel wool around a bore brush and polishing the chamber to make sure any leftover factory protectant grease or roughly-finished spots are taken care of. That's usually a good first step to breaking in a new chamber. Some folks are quick to suggest grinding or filing down parts of the chamber or barrel extension, but I wouldn't recommend that at this point. A couple stiff extracts per round just sounds like normal pre-break-in hiccups with lower-quality modern ammo, not a serious manufacturing defect.

Thanks for your feed back. I'm going to go with that and keep it clean, while giving it more time to break in.
