Is the thing below it the barrel? If so, where is the ring that goes on the magtube? If that's just a railing as a straight edge it dosent tell us much.. who knows if what your assuming should be a straight edge on the reciever actually should match the magtube. Put a barrel on it and if its still crooked we can talk about it...
The receiver is flat on a glass table for reference. The photos are taken of the top and bottom of the mag tube. Top photo is the top if the mag tube. Bottom is the bottom of the mag tube. The XS sight is pushed all the way over to the L perhaps in an effort to line up the sights.
The receiver was parted out from a new shotgun according to the seller.
Did you have a stock installed when you took those pictures?
The mag tube really should be straight. Nothing's completely perfect int he fabricating world, of course, but that looks like more than just tolerance stacking. Since you got the gun used, I'm a little concerned that the misalignment might be something besides a factory defect. Are there any scuffs or other indications that the magazine tube might have been knocked around?
No stock. I don't have any other parts at the moment.
The side of the receiver is flat against the glass table in both photos. The magazine tube is canted left. No noticeable marring or dented areas. It also appears that the tube is straight. I laid the tube itself on the glass table and rolled it without notable warp in the tube.
I edited the first post to show the orientation.
So its about .083 off center. Dosent seem horrible.
Knowing what Remington puts out these days I'd say your not lookin too bad. I'd make a gun out of it and if issues arise then you can easily break it back down. I mean the barrel fits so sloppy in the reciever it could probably be .500 off and still work.
You could call Remington and ask them if .083 is within acceptable tolerances.

That does not look like it's within factory tolerances. I know some people have a poor opinion of Remington based on unfortunate personal experiences or internet scuttlebutt, but Remington is not that sloppy. If it did come that way from the factory, it would be a defective part. But since you got this receiver used, It may not be a factory defect at all. I would contact the seller first and see if you can get a replacement.
