Thanks for the lead. I picked up a tube of bluing cream I happened to see at the shop. I’ll give it a try ad see how that goes to start.

That'll work, too. Maybe not as durable or streak-free but the mag tube isn't as visible so I think you'll be satisfied. DEFINITELY easier than slow rust bluing. Post your progress once in a while.

Good day.

Please help me identify my Remington 870.

I have been the owner of the Express Magnum model for several years, but recently a question arose, is such a barrel installed on my rifle at the factory, or is it sawn off?

Please help me identify my pistol.

Thank you in advance.

The sawed off rifle barrel on your shotgun was 100% not installed on your pistol from the factory.

There’s several little spots on the receiver that could use work too, but for now I just want to improve the look of the mag tube.

Eventually I may have the whole gun redone in proper blueing.

Yes, I’ll post photos of video of how it goes.

It’s always possible that either English isn’t his first language or just doesn’t know the proper terminology for the guns parts.

I’d still like to see photos of it to understand what’s going on with it.

The photo link didn’t work. But I got the hard link to the photo.
Yes, I think the barrel may have been cut down, thought I can’t be 100% sure.

It’s a vented rib barrel which I believe are 28” and longer.
From the look of the photo it looks to be cut to 20”.

To find out , remove any shells from gun and be sure it’s completely empty. Then close the breach bolt. Now reach down the barrel to the bolt face with a tape measure and see what you get from bolt face to end of barrel.
