Allow me to add to the "Dimple curing Methods".

Dimple curing. I NEVER drill / file or in any way damage the extension tube to remove dimples. I always pop them out using a method described in the next video. It works perfectly.

Hey all. I'm new here, but not to 870's. I've had one for several years that was used primarily as a turkey gun and for occaisonal trap shooting, but lately our IDPA group has started doing defensive shotgun. I have a newer 870 Express Magnum with the 27 inch barrel, and wanted to get a mag extension and possibly shorter barrel. As it is, mine only holds 4x of 2 3/4 inch shells. I've read through here a bit and saw a lot about Nordic Components, but most people seem to have 18.5 inch barrels and the like. What would be the largest extension I can fit under my 27in barrel without sticking out? And if I were to downsize in barrels, what length/brand is a good route to go? Thanks for the hep.

First post, new owner of a new 870 Police Magnum.
Quick question about the Remington 2-shot extension...
I've seen lots of pictures of various 870's with this extension and sometimes the end of the mag tube is flush with the muzzle, sometimes it's a little bit longer. My 870P has an 18" barrel, will that 2-shot extension go past that? Just an aesthetic thing, but if the tube is longer than the barrel, that's a deal-breaker for me. If it'll end up flush with the barrel, I'll stick with the factory Remington part.

mag extension tube or it will be much longer than the barrel?

I have found info that length of Nordic +7 Extension for Remington 870 is 17.24". Now you can check if it will be much longer than the barrel.

+2 factory extension on an 18'' barrel should remain flush.

No, it's not a problem. Most competitive shooters have extension which is longer than the barrel:


You will have to clean the extension from lead residue after shooting but other than that - everything is ok.

Hey all proud new owner of an 870 express that I purchased used, it has a 20 inch barrel with rifle sights. Checked in the tube and someone has already taken care of drilling out the dimples. After some research here it seems the Nordic Components Mag extension is the one to have. Anyone have any luck on finding them in stock anywhere online? Been searching for the 3 rounder and having no luck at all seems they are backordered/out of stock everywhere.
