Glad it isn't the great big wall-eyed chip it looks like. I would be pissed beyond compare if I went to polishing and chipped mine.

Thanks to both of you for the excellent pics and to Syncronizor for the explaination. I looks like the flaw in the finish may also be related to the same thing as all of Synchro's barrels show the same type of flaw. Just a wear mark.
