It is just a lighter spring. I don't know wht Barnes calls it a "kit"Synchronizor wrote:Now that is a great-looking shotgun, simple and practical, but with some sensible accessories and a nice cosmetic touch. Thanks
I've heard some good things about the gun coatings from Black Ice. Is that finish just a cosmetic touch, or is it the real PTFE coating? It is normal water transfer film
I see you've got the breacher choke tube installed in some pictures, but not others. Do you actually use that, or do you prefer a different choke tube, and just put that in for pictures? I don't shoot without the choke on. I took it of to clean it...
Also, I hadn't previously heard of a Barnes trigger kit. The description here makes it sound like just a lighter sear spring. Is there something else in the kit that makes it better than just ordering a lighter sear spring from Remington?

Re: Lets have some pictures of your builds.
I have posted on any site for a long long time. I've been very busy with a lot of different things one of which is enlistment in the USMC.
But onto topic I got tired with the folding stock on my 870 so I "thought I had a 12 gauge walnut stock however it turned out to be for a 20 gauge model so I put the express stock back on it then I stained it to be darker. I'm thinking of sanding down and getting rid of the wannabe heat stamped checkering then starting from fresh. However, I don't know if I want to just use polyurethane or do the 3 part epoxy. the epoxy is stronger more glass like however its time consuming and it takes a couple days to fully harden. So, enough rambling here it is.

Just look thru the picture posts and you will see some good ideas for colors and what people use for the wood. One of the nicest was done with leather dye and then Tru-oil or boiled linseed oil I think. Just look up stock refinishing and you will see some great jobs on some AK's and other surplus rifles. I really want mine more of an AK red on my 870P.

Sorry aswell, Sounded like you were condescending. Sorry about that. I however did get the right stain mixture today to make the birch match my forend. It just needed abit more red but I got it.

Well, i'm about to make some changes to my 870, so i got bored last nite and reinstalled some of my toys. I'm about to change the look and functionality of my 870, so i thought i'd post some pics of how it's been set up for a long time.
I know a lot of people don't like VFG's and tacticool stuff, but when i hold on to my gun, set up like this, it sure feels and racks real sweetly.
But i'm going for a more KISS approach, and have most of my new parts. I'm going to have a small "garage sale" on ebay to get some of my money back on the parts i'm not gonna use anymore, many not pictured here.

Well if you decide your going to lose the pistol grip, ill take that Urbino QD attachment, that pins between the receiver and stock, off your hands.

Hey JBall, The Mesa Urbino Stock is the only part that i kinda planned on holding on to, sorry bout that. I've grown attatched to it, and i figured i'd keep that Stock. Hell, if did sell it, i'd just gift ya the QD mount. I've already sold my Mako rear stock for 180.00 on ebay, and have a plethera of other parts to sell as well. BTW, i saw where you color filled you forend lettering with white paint, looks great.
