Barrel cleaning

Yeah its an alloy of metals. The scrubber is softer than the blueing and hard enough to remove lead and rust. Ive used mine on my surplus rifles. Takes rust off with easy and doesn't hurt the finish. Also help get alot of the crud out of the bore. They are worth the money. I've had mine a few years now and it is still working great. It stays in my cleaning kit.
