Just get a magazine cap with a sling swivel. I don't know why Uncle Mike's is saying their caps won't work with the SuperMag, unless there's something specific to their product. Remington's parts list shows no special magazine caps or magazine tubes for the SuperMag 870s. The only unique SuperMag magazine parts listed are the spring and the plug. Any 12ga magazine cap intended for guns with the internal-ratchet spring retainer should work on your gun.wagswvu wrote:I'm just about ready to give up on sling.

I realize this thread is a little old, but anyway. Synchronyzer is absolutely right. I have an Uncle Mikes internal ratcheting cap w/swivel and have no problems with my Super Mag. Another thing, i dont know if you're averse to adding a mag extension, a +1 or +2 would solve your problem completely, b/c you can add a barrel clamp with a sling point attached, or a +1 would come with a sling point. Just a suggestion. Putting a swivel cap on a super mag should not be any big deal, the diameter of the mag tube is exactly the same as any other 870.
