It can be made to work.
Don’t worry about the trigger, sear, or hammer. The 1100/11-87 parts in place will work identically if the trigger group is put in an 870.
There are two key differences in the trigger groups.
1- The 11xx has a latch to hold the carrier down, in turn holding the bolt open after the last round. Delete this latch, or, better still, delete it and install an 870 carrier.
2- the disconnector in the 11xx is called the action bar lock in the 870. They both do the same disconnector functions (yes, the 870 has a disconnector, just not called such). The 870’s disconnector differs in that it also has a tab that sticks out on the left side of the trigger guard. Without that tab, the only way you’d be able to open the action is by pulling the trigger - a very poor way to clear a firearm.
In order to correct this, you’d have to slot the 11xx trigger guard to allow for the tab, and replace the disconnector with an 870’s action bar lock. This would also require a new hammer pin and washer, since the hammer pin is essentially a one-time-use rivet, with the head being riveted over the washer. You’ll need to grind the head off the hammer pin right side, remove the pin (throw away), install the new action bar lock with a new hammer, and use a punch to rivet the right side of the new pin into place.

All steel 870 trigger group...that's as tall an order as finding a MK1 or MK2 bayonet lug for the 870. Not impossible, but if you search the web and have enough patience and munny, well...seek and ye shall find.
